ABOUT MAZTERMIND

Recreate board games as an art of play

From the skillful hands of Vietnamese craftsmen to your playing table, each Maztermind’s set is designed to turn every game into a new form of playing - The Art of Play. We don’t make games, we create beauty and experience for players to treasure and feel deeper.

Give traditions a modern twist

At Maztermind, we believe that everyone is a playmate at heart. To bring back the skills of game-making and the joy of playing in the old days when all the games were lovingly handmade, we give traditional board games new aesthetics using hand-picked materials and excellent craftsmanship.

CORE VALUE

CRAFTSMANSHIP

From turning raw materials into high-quality pieces, our crafting process combines traditional values and contemporary design that commits to delivering the finest craft products.

CONNECTIVITY

To us, board games are not simply for entertainment. They spread joy and bring people closer together. We hope to inspire you to collect memories that last longer, feel deeper, and touch further.

AESTHETIC

More than a game, every piece embodies a sense of art blending with rational functionality. A pleasure both to play and display, our board games are a striking showpiece for any interior and the ultimate present for any wish list.

OUR JOURNEY

01

2018 - 2019

Founded by Toan Nguyen in 2018 with the vision of creating games that honor Vietnamese traditions. Our team spent most of time in R&D to develop popular Vietnamese board games, for example, Ô ăn quan (Mancala), Five in A Row (Caro), and Ludo. We then expanded the product lines to include classic games from all around the world like Chess, Chinese Chess (Xiangqi), Poker.

02

2020

Maztermind’s board games are officially launched into the market after years of R&D and countless prototypes. We celebrated the Lunar New Year by launching Hoo Hey How (Bầu Cua), a traditional Vietnamese dice game, and the first playing card deck inspired from the epic Vietnamese legends.

03

2021

During the pandemic period, as an escape from life in lockdown, the idea of The Lumina Collection consisting of Chess, Ludo, and Monopoly was born. We let creativity, the vibrant shades of colors, and the use of new materials set us free behind closed doors.

04

2022 -

We are expanding our market to international customers who support board game companies creating handcrafted and aesthetic games.

You can find us in Elle Decor magazine, VTV, Dep magazine, and so on.

We also collaborated with famous Vietnamese artists to lauch Islandopoly (featuring Lys Bui), Animal Kingdom (with No Limit), and Hoo Hey How - Loc Uyen (with Tran Nhat).
